Q. For Move In Certified, is the inspection a complete inspection, or a cursory inspection?

A. Any inspection that is part of a real estate transaction is required to be on the state regulated form, and a complete inspection is required.

Do I have to disclose the inspection report to the buyers, or is Move In Certified enough?

A. You will have to disclose the home inspection report.

Q. Is the cost for Move In Certified different from a buyers inspection?

A. No. The cost is the same. There is no additional cost for this service or the yard sign. However, one the home is sold the yard sign must be returned.

Q. What do I do if my house does not meet Move In Certified criteria after the home inspection?

A. You can do one of two things. You can make the necessary improvements to meet the criteria. Or you can opt out of the Move In Certified process, however you will still have to disclose the home inspection report.

Q. Should I be present for the home inspection?

A. Yes. This is a great opportunity for you to talk with inspector about any repairs that might be needed to meet Move In Certified criteria.
